Elderberry Gummy Bears

Ok, first you have to make the syrup. For that you need the following:

2 cinnamon sticks

¼ tsp gr. Cloves

1 orange (zested and cut in half)

1 lemon (zested and cut in half)

4 cups filtered water

1 cup raw honey

Instant Pot method:

Add all the ingredients (except honey) to pot, seal and set on high pressure for 12 minutes. Quick Release and strain. Put into pot on the stove and let reduce by half. Let cool add honey and stir well.

Stove top method:

Add all the ingredients (except honey) to pot, and bring to a simmer. Let simmer for 45 mins to 1 hour. Strain, put back into pot and reduce by half. Let cool and stir in honey.

Gummy Bears

1 cup Elderberry syrup

½ cup hot water (not boiling)

¼ cup gelatin powder

Coconut Oil for greasing the molds.

 

Grease molds to prevent sticking.

Put ¼ cup of cooled elderberry syrup in a c cup measuring cup and add gelatin. Whisk and add the ½ cup water (not boiling) and stir quickly til smooth. Add the rest of the syrup and whisk til smooth.

Pour into molds using a medicine dropper (comes with the molds) Put in fridge til firm.

Pop out and eat! They will keep in the fridge for a couple weeks.

Take daily to avoid flu or take every few hours if you have the flu.
