Erin Go Bragh! Posted on 2 Mar 08:05 , 1 comment
Erin Go Bragh! Did you know that means "Ireland Forever?" I didn't either! Well it's March 2nd and as you know I love to decorate for the holidays. And I've never really decorated for St. Patrick's Day in the past. Let's face it that kelly green is hard to decorate with! And as usual, I decided to jump in with both feet. I started looking in all my "hiding spots" for cute things that are green and I went on a little shopping spree to find some cute stuff to sprinkle around the house to put us in the mood. I found this little vintage postcard on Ebay! I love it!
So, for my piano I added a few glittered shamrocks, and I took apart a banner and just used a glue gun to add the letters to my mirror! (I hope they come off) I think it looks pretty cute! And I love that it says "Lucky." Makes me feel lucky every time I look at it! Hmmm...I might leave it up all year!
I went to our local antique store and found this little "Irish Blessing" picture. I think it's pretty and I love the saying!
And you know I have to have a vintage piece or two, so I found this on Ebay.
It's so perfect and it's from 1932! I just love it! It's all about St. Patrick, sounds interesting right?
I also got these vintage St. Patrick's Day post cards to add a little more flare! That beautiful lady peaking out behind that postcard is my Granny. What a beauty!
Aren't these so pretty! That little girl behind the postcard is my mom when she was little. How cute is she!
Then I found this little picture in one of my hiding places! It belonged to my Great Aunt Tressie! I got it after she passed away. She always put it up for St. Patrick's Day. I know its "Irish Blessing" and it says the same thing as my other picture but I still love it! I also have a picture of my best friend Sandy in a green frame so that fit in perfectly. Sandy passed away in 2013. I keep her picture out year round, so I can say Hi to her. " Hi Sandy! Sure do miss you!" And I found these green felt shamrocks to put out too!
More green shamrocks scattered around!
I found this little banner at Hobby Lobby, you know my favorite store! And I added some green vintage books to the mix.
I wanted a little something more for the fireplace so I went on line and ordered a few things. I found these Bethany Lowe figures that I LOVE! Aren't they so me!
On my old vintage dresser, I just attached some of my green felt shamrocks to the mirror and added this sign and I found this old green clock in one of my hiding places! And I found that little sign at Hobby Lobby, you know one of my favorite stores!
I found this pretty little lass at the local antique store! She's a music box and plays "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling!" It's so sweet it makes me cry!
Then I wanted a couple more things for a little more pizazz so I ordered these pillows!
They are so cute and I was so excited but unfortunately I won't be getting these until after March 17th! So I'm gonna save them for next year! But aren't they darling.
Here are my two darling granddaughters! We went to the store and they found these getups!
Anyways, that's my little tour of my St. Patrick's Day house. I hope you're all getting ready to make Corned Beef and Cabbage on March 17th. I can't wait!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
